Reverend Ugyen Rinpoche has announced the scholarships to backward and down trodden school children in an school event during his visit to the distinct in October 2015 last year.

9th July 2016: 10 Students awarded scholarships in Lumla, Tawang in conjuction with 81st birthday celebration of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

Spreading smiles amongst the denizens of Lumla sub-division, 10 acedemically qualified low-income scholars were awarded college scholarships.

Reverend Rikya Rinpoche, abbot of Jamyang Choekorling monastery and Lumla ADC Mika Nyori presented the scholarships to the children and their guardians during the 81st birthday celebration of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama at Dolma Lhagang in Lumla.

Sponsored by His Eminence Ugyen Choephel Rinpoche of Mindrolling monastery in Dehra Dun and in association with a local NGO 'Monyul Vision', the scholarship programme is targeted to ensure the students to persue their educational goals despite unforseen financial emergencies by providing financial grants.
