May all sentient beings be free from sufferings and achieve everlasting happiness and the highest state of enlightenment, especially people and other sentient beings throughout the world whose lives are affected by natural disaster as well by political differences.

About Us

The Odiyana Buddhist Centres in Malaysia (commonly known as Mindrolling Buddhist Centre) are the non-profit Dharma community which practice Tibetan Buddhism and teaching tradition of the Ngagyur Nyingma Tibetan Buddhism. Currently a few Dharma centres have established and registered with the Malaysian Registrar at the instructions of His Eminence Kyabje Mindrolling Ugyen Choephel Rinpoche.

Our main purpose is to benefit all living beings to purify their minds, by clarifying the path and achieve realization of the path up to enlightenment and with the means of finding true happiness, promote harmony and peace among all peoples.

The basis of Buddha Dharma is to go for refuge, with heartfelt intent, to the three Jewels as well as generating loving-kindness, compassion, bodhicitta or mind of attain enlightenment and perfect view. This is the practiced through listening, reflecting and meditating on the scriptures of both Sutra and Tantra. Also, at all times and in all places, in accordance with one's capability, to solely act for the benefit of others or to at least make the promise to do so and to engage in positive actions through the three doors of body, speech and mind for the benefit of others.This constitutes the origin of all happiness, the root of peace and happiness in the world, the true remedy for the three poisons or the defilements of greed, anger and ignorance, the disturbing emotions, the perfect path that liberates from the truth of the suffering of samsara.

Our Mission

All living beings are endowed with the Buddha Nature. They can become Buddhas. The Buddhas contemplate all living beings as Buddhas. Through the Buddha Dharma teaching, all sentient beings able to gain auspiciousness and be freed from disasters, to repent all evil deeds and reform one’s conduct, to penetrate the working of cause and effect in the three periods of time, to awaken to the innate Buddha Nature, to leave the sufferings in the seas of birth and death and finally to arrive at the Pure Land or Lotus Land of Ultimate Bliss.

Background and Brief History

His Eminence Ugyen Choephel Rinpoche initial visit to Malaysia was in year 2001. During that time Sister Angeline and Sister Medaline first came in contact with Rinpoche. They were staunch Buddhist believer and sought the guidance of Rinpoche and around the same year in winter 2001, Rinpoche took a chance and invited them to India along with him. Apparently India being a very holy land for Buddhist people, from where Buddhism first came into existence and Buddha got enlightened. On their initial brief pilgrimage trip, Rinpoche took them to Mindrolling Monastery and Rewalsar Lake (a lotus lake). Upon their return from the pilgrimage trip, they had a long discussion about setting up a Buddhist Centre in Nibong Tebal - Malaysia which is for the long term benefits of local Buddhist devotees. Finally in year 2002, the project materialised much with the assistance of Sister Angeline, Sister Madaline along with other committees. Centre Registration in Malaysia took place and the centre is named as "Mindrolling Buddhist Center " The centre is located at Nibong Tebal under Penang state.

Gradually, the local Buddhist devotees started seeking Venerable Rinpoche's guidance and many became his disciples. With the passing years revered Rinpoche's wisdom and popularity flourished and he touched the heart of many people from different walks of life. He met many high profile Buddhist friends as well like Dr. Mark, Prof. Peter Ng. They further introduced Sister Jennifer to Rinpoche. They showed keen interest in strengthening Rinpoche's duty to human kind which further resulted in registration of a new Buddhist centre in Ipoh - Malaysia in the year of 2004. This centre is mainly financed by Sister Jennifer as well as Sister Betty, Sister Mooi Lan and Mrs. Lee.

In Ipoh centre, Sister Betty and Sister Mooi Lan hold the post of president and that of secretary. These two sisters took full responsibility of the Centre and with their tired less effort and the support of rest of the committees in every activity. Gradually the centre developed and now it has become one of renowned Vajrayana Buddhist Centre in Ipoh town.

Around the year 2008, Rinpoche met Mr. Lim couple from Sg. Petani, Kedah in year 2010, Mr. Lim and some dharma friends from Sg. Petani had a conversation with Rinpoche about their interest in learning Buddhist teaching from revered Rinpoche and shared their opinions to have a Buddhist Centre in Sg. Petani. Henceforth from the year of 2010, every year Rinpoche's disciples from Sg. Petani organises two grand Dharma activities in Sg. Petani. In year 2012 they want to move forward for applying centre registration.
